Terms & Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
1.1. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the services ("Services") provided by Adulty Research ("Adulty", "we", "us", or "our"), an affiliate of the Pickypath Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization ("Foundation"). By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use our Services.
1.2. Our mission is to deliver free, research-driven insights into young adult behavior and mental health to support the next generation’s mental and physical well-being. Nothing herein shall obligate you to pay for Services, as they are provided at no cost.
2. Definitions
2.1. "User" or "you" means any individual or entity that accesses or uses the Services.
2.2. "Content" means any text, data, reports, surveys, analyses, visualizations, or other materials provided through the Services.
2.3. "Website" refers to any domain or subdomain through which we offer the Services.
3. Eligibility and Registration
3.1. You must be at least 13 years old to use our Services. By registering or using the Services, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.
3.2. You agree to provide accurate and complete information when registering or engaging with our Services, and to update such information promptly upon any changes.
4. Use of Services
4.1. You may access and use the Services solely for personal, non-commercial purposes.
4.2. You agree not to:
a. Create derivative works of any Content except as expressly permitted under these Terms.
b. Use the Services in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair any Adulty server or network.
c. Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Services or any systems or networks connected to the Services.
5. Intellectual Property
5.1. All Content, trademarks, logos, and service marks displayed on the Website are the property of Adulty or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable intellectual property laws.
5.2. You acknowledge that you have no ownership rights in any Content. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Content for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms.
6. Data Collection and Privacy
6.1. Limited Scope of Information. We do not collect or retain any sensitive personal information, including but not limited to names, physical addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses, social security numbers, driver’s license numbers, financial account or credit card details, health records, or any other data that can directly identify or harm an individual. Under no circumstances will we solicit, process, or store such information.
6.2. Anonymity and Aggregation. All user-provided data—whether survey responses, behavioral metrics, or demographic indicators—is immediately anonymized upon receipt. Through state-of-the-art de-identification protocols and cryptographic hashing, we sever any ties between the raw input and the individual source. We process and present all findings in fully aggregated form, ensuring that no single data point can be traced back to any user. Our aggregation techniques include k-anonymity, differential privacy, and data generalization to reinforce robust privacy guarantees.
6.3. Data Use and Publication. Aggregated insights are used exclusively for academic research, white papers, presentations, and open-access publications. At no point will we reverse-engineer or deanonymize data sets. All published analyses comply with industry best practices (e.g., ISO/IEC 27018 for Personally Identifiable Information protection in public clouds) and Center for Internet Security (CIS) benchmarks. Our goal is to foster transparent, reproducible research while preserving the inviolability of personal privacy.
6.4. IP Address Policy for Quality Assurance. To safeguard data integrity and prevent malicious or automated submissions that could skew aggregate results, we may log users’ IP addresses. This data is used solely for anomaly detection, rate limiting, and blocking suspicious activity (e.g., repeated rapid submissions, bot-like behavior). IP logs are immediately encrypted at rest, purged after a rolling 30-day retention period, and never linked to survey contents in any analytical pipeline.
6.5. Security and Compliance. All data—transient or stored—is protected via AES-256 encryption in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest. We employ multi-factor authentication for administrative access, routine penetration testing, and continuous monitoring via Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools. Our infrastructure complies with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Cybersecurity Framework and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Security Rule, despite not handling protected health information.
6.6. User Rights and Transparency. Although we do not maintain personal identifiers, users retain the right to request deletion of any raw survey responses or to inquire about our data-handling methodologies. Questions or concerns about privacy practices can be addressed via our Data and Privacy Contact (privacy@adulty.org), and we commit to responding within 7 days.
